Skills

General

Playing age: 18-28 years

Full UK driving licence and own car (fully insured including for business use). Experience driving a van. DBS checked (enhanced disclosure).

Honours Level in Stage Combat. Weapons at Honours Level include sabre and gladius and shield. Other weapons include broadsword, rapier and dagger, knife and rope, double escrima, sai, unarmed, 18th century small sword, fighting in a group, single escrima, quarterstaff, knife, rapier (single sword), rapier and buckler, rapier and cloak, case of rapiers and found weapons. Am also trained in screen combat, archery, horse combat (including basic horse archery) and handling theatrical handguns and rifles for stage and screen), and have experience working with squibs and breakables.

Horse riding (ABRS Experienced - highly skilled) in both Western and classical English styles. Extra riding skills include military drill riding, neck reining, basic jumping, basic horse archery, basic carriage driving, basic bareback and basic dressage.

Dance skills including tap, jazz, ballet, contemporary, salsa and historical dance.

Tae Kwon Do (red tag), mask skills, pool, presenting, computing, basic French, devising skills, delivering workshops, kabuki theatre, physical theatre, outdoor theatre, forum theatre, puppetry, acting for green screen, ADR, piercing scream.

Music

  • Singing: Strong singing voice - belt and soprano (Grade 8 Trinity Guildhall with merit). Good range (E3-D6 - E below middle C to second D above top C*), belt to top F#.
       Experience in chorus and solo singing, including complex harmonies (e.g. Sondheim). Can sing alto, mezzo-soprano and soprano              numbers, and some tenor numbers within my range.
       *sometimes called soprano D/super D/high D/D above high C
  • Instruments: Piano (Grade 8), clarinet (Grade 2 with merit), saxophone, recorder, harmonica, Irish tin whistle. Grade 5 music theory (merit).

Accents

Skilled at accents. Have studied them phonetically and have a good ear. Accents I have used before include: Yorkshire*, UK RP, Cockney, Geordie, Liverpool, Scottish, Irish, Welsh, Standard American, Southern American, Canadian, French, German, Russian, Hungarian, Polish, Danish, South African. Skilled at learning new accents.

  • I placed joint second in Monologueslam Manchester July 2011, performing a monologue from John Godber's Shakers
  • music video for Longdown/IKO, produced by Powerhouse Photography, in which I played the role of Jess, came second in the        SUN-motion awards 2010
  • Doritos advert Share and Cher Alike, produced by MotivMedia, in which I played the role of Kerry, won a place in the top 50 entries in the Doritos King of Ads competition 2010
  • Humberites Trophy for Best Actress for the role of Cathy in An Air That Kills, staged by Dewsbury Arts Group in 2010 (this play reached the quarter-finals of the All-England Theatre Festival and also won the Saville Trophy for Best Director, the Theatre Workshop Bridlington Trophy for Best Actor, the Phil Higginson Trophy for Best Sound, the Ric Hardacre Trophy for Best Lighting, the Peter Silburn Trophy for Best Set Design, the Rowntree Players Award for Best Individual Performance and the BTA North Yorkshire Coastal District Trophy for First Place in the first round of the All-England Theatre Festival, and was nominated for the Lincolnshire and Humberside Arts Trophy for Best Original Play and the Pam Dellar Award for Best Visual Moment)
  • Commendation at the D&AD (Digital and Analog Design) Competition for Pigsy in Space, produced in association with the University of Leeds, in which I played the role of a nurse
  • Vernon C. Sykes Trophy for Drama for the role of Eileen Reagan in Back to the 80s
  • Vernon C. Sykes Trophy for Drama for the role of Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream
